Need movers in Maurice, LA for a first apartment or a move clear across the country? Bayou State Moving is a Lafayette moving company, and Maurice is a straight shot south down Hwy 167 from where our crew starts the day.
We handle apartment moves, long-distance moves, and everything in between, with full packing before the truck arrives and furniture setup once it is unloaded.
Maurice gets a lot of renters who work in Lafayette but want a quieter place to come home to. Others go the opposite way, leaving a Maurice rental for an apartment closer to the job. Either way, the lease date is fixed and the stairs are what they are.
Our apartment movers plan the carry, protect the hallways, and keep the small moves on schedule. See our apartment moving service for how it works.
Some Maurice moves do not stop at the parish line. A job in Houston, family in Dallas, a transfer that came with a two-week notice. Our long-distance movers pack and load the truck the same way we would for a move across town, then keep you posted until it is unloaded.
Hiring movers in Maurice for a long haul means one crew from your door to the new one. Read more on our long-distance moving page.
Packing a whole house is a second job most people do not have time for. Our crew brings the boxes, paper, and tape, and works room by room. Dishes get wrapped one at a time, lamps get their own boxes, and every box gets a room name on two sides.

The truck being empty does not mean the move is over. We reassemble bed frames, put the dining table back together, and place the heavy pieces where you want them so nobody is sliding a dresser across the floor at midnight.
Add unpacking and furniture setup to your move and the house is livable by dinner.
Lafayette keeps growing south, and Maurice is catching the overflow. New subdivisions off Hwy 167 and the side roads mean a lot of families moving into houses with fresh floors and fresh paint. Our residential movers pad door frames and wrap furniture so nothing gets marked on day one.

Maurice is the first town you hit in Vermilion Parish heading south from Lafayette, and most people outside Acadiana only know it from the turducken at Hebert's. Locals know it as the place where Lafayette traffic finally thins out on 167.
Plenty of folks find us by searching movers near me from a Maurice address. As local movers based just up the highway, we spend more of the day lifting and less of it driving.
Our crews work 5 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week, so a Saturday or Sunday move is a normal day for us. An early start beats the afternoon heat and leaves time to set up furniture before dark.
Ask about our license and insurance coverage when you call, and we will go over it before anything is booked. Our movers in Maurice would rather answer questions up front than on moving day.
Driving the truck yourself? We provide loading and unloading services for rental trucks, trailers, and storage containers. Heavy pieces go in first and low, tiers get strapped, and the load rides without shifting.
Book our truck loading crew for one end of the move or both.
Maurice's businesses are small and local, and a move cannot shut them down for long. Our commercial movers handle desks, files, shelving, and fixtures, and we can work evenings or weekends to keep your hours intact. Read about our business moving service.
The same crew works north in Sunset and east in Breaux Bridge, so a move between those towns and Maurice is one trip.
Our movers in Maurice also cover the towns along 167 and the back roads around them, from Milton up to Lafayette and down to Abbeville.
