Hiring movers in Jeanerette, LA means trusting someone with old Teche homes and the furniture that has lived in them for generations. Bayou State Moving is a Lafayette moving company, and Jeanerette is a short drive past New Iberia for our crew.
We move houses and apartments, wrap and protect every heavy piece, and pack the rooms you would rather not touch.
Jeanerette stretches along Bayou Teche, with older homes facing the water on one side and cane fields on the other. Plenty of those houses are raised, with porch steps and narrow hallways. Our residential movers walk through first and plan which doors come off and which way each piece goes out.

Families along the Teche keep their furniture. Cypress armoires, four-poster beds, marble-top dressers, china cabinets that came down from a great-grandmother. Good movers in Jeanerette pad and stretch-wrap every piece, remove legs and glass where it helps, and carry it like it cannot be replaced.
Our furniture wrapping and protection can be added to any move.
Packing an older home is slow, careful work. China, crystal, framed photos, and decades of kitchen gear all need wrapping. Our crew packs room by room with the right boxes and plenty of paper, and every box gets labeled on two sides.
Book our packing and unpacking services for the whole house or just the fragile rooms.
Not every Jeanerette move is a family homestead. Rental houses and small apartment buildings turn over on lease dates that do not move. Our apartment movers take those jobs as seriously as a full house.

From fall into winter, grinding season puts cane trucks on every road around Jeanerette, hauling to the mills. They are slow, they are heavy, and they shed cane on the shoulders. We plan the drive around them and allow extra time. The smell of French bread from LeJeune's, baking in town for well over a century, is the one thing that makes the wait easy.
People who search movers near me from Jeanerette usually want local movers who know the area. Our crew starts every day just up the road in Lafayette.
Driving it yourself? We provide loading and unloading services for rental trucks, trailers, and storage containers, with heavy pieces low and forward and every tier strapped for the road.
Book our loading and unloading crew for one end of the move or both.
Jeanerette's businesses are small and local, and a move cannot shut them down for long. Our commercial movers handle desks, files, shelving, and fixtures, and we can work evenings or weekends.

Our crews work 5 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week, so Saturday and Sunday moves are normal for us. An early start beats the heat and leaves time to set up furniture before dark.
Ask about our license and insurance coverage when you call, and we will go over it before anything is booked. Our movers in Jeanerette would rather answer questions up front.
When the move goes past Louisiana, our long-distance movers pack and load the truck the same way we would for a move down the bayou, then keep you posted until it is unloaded. Start with our long-distance moving service.
The same crew works just up the Teche in New Iberia and out on the prairie in Eunice, so a move between those towns and Jeanerette is one trip.
Our movers in Jeanerette also cover the towns up and down the lower Teche, from New Iberia to Baldwin and Charenton.
